National Staffing Employee Week takes place every September, and is the designated time for companies to celebrate temporary and contract workers. This year’s National Staffing Employee Week takes place from September 18th through the 22nd. Our recruiters are making deliveries this week to thank our temps with special Staffing Week treats! Organize a causal, kid-friendly event for staff and their families, like a cookout or field day. Many temp workers sacrifice benefits and job security during their temp period in hopes of securing a permanent role at a firm, so making them feel appreciated will show them that you value their commitment.
Create a “Wall of Awesome” in the break room to celebrate your temps’ contributions. Post photos of temps on a whiteboard, and leave space for staff to write praise and thanks for the awesome work these temps have done.
Post a special blog to your company’s website during National Staffing Employee Week to thank temps for a job well done. Pictures of temps, staff bios, and snapshots of office shenanigans are a fun way to break up a stream of traditional blog posts.
Write handwritten thank-you notes to staff members, and include Dunkin Donuts gift cards so they can keep up the frenetic pace even on the craziest workdays.
Hold a raffle in the office, selling cheap raffle tickets to all staff members throughout National Staffing Employee Week. Donate the raffle ticket money to a local charity that holds a special place in the hearts of all your team members, or perhaps a charity whose mission is related to the type of business you run.
A great idea that we decided to do this year was to create custom awards certificates celebrating each temp’s unique talents. We came up with superlatives like a high school yearbook. Awards for ‘Best Team Player,’ ‘Most Tech Savvy,’ or ‘Most Likely to be Future CEO’ are lighthearted, and highlight temps’ individual personalities.
