3 Ways to Manage Your Energy to Increase Productivity

1. Get Plenty of Sleep:

Did you know? The brain needs to shut down in order to reset. Using your electronics right before bed will sabotage that completely. It’s been proven by that the phone screen lights hinder the brain from releasing melatonin, the hormone that tells the body to go to sleep.
A better habit to develop as a bedtime ritual is reading. Reading a book helps you relax more than zoning out in front of a screen before bed. A simple breathing technique could also help with sleep. Do whatever best fits, but please ditch the screens!

2. Eat a Nutritional Breakfast/Lunch:

What we put in our bodies has a much larger impact on our productivity than we realize. The wrong foods at the wrong times can seriously dampen anyone’s workday, but there’s good news! With the right amount of attention and care, it’s easy to fuel your body with the right nutrients.

A balanced diet consists of: fruits and veggies, lean protein, a few healthy snacks in between, and lots of water. Sugar and unhealthy fats will ultimately destroy your energy and decrease your productivity. To avoid unhealthy choices, try packing a lunch more often.

3. Take Regular Breaks:

Give your brain regular breaks. If your schedule offers a 15-min. break or 30 min. break, take it! Stop your work, take care of yourself. It will give your brain a mini reset, and you’ll instantly feel the urge to be more productive if you do so. Breaks could range from getting up to talk to a colleague about something other than work, listening to an audiobook, or as small as walking up and down a hall in an office building.
