Be Prepared

The best way to rid yourself of pre-interview jitters is to simply be prepared. Researching the company you are interviewing for, as well as the person who will be conducting the interview, is a great way to come into the meeting feeling confident.

Practice Common Interview Questions

In addition to doing your research on the company and the role you’re interviewing for, it’s also important to practice common interview questions with a friend or family member. This will not only prepare you for potential questions but also give you an opportunity to practice articulating your answers confidently and smoothly.

Take Preventative Measures

First, map out your drive and plan for traffic. It’s also important to account for potential delays, such as finding parking or getting lost. Additionally, make sure you print out all the materials you need for the interview, such as a copy of your resume and any additional documents they may have requested, the day before the interview. Don't wait until the morning.

Get A Good Night's Sleep

One of the best things you can do to ease your anxiety and improve your chances of success is to get a good night’s sleep. When you’re well rested, you’ll be able to think more clearly and focus on the task at hand.

Eat A Healthy Breakfast

Food is fuel, and there is no denying that a good meal can give you the energy you need to power through an interview. However, what you choose to eat is entirely up to you. Some people prefer to eat foods that are high in antioxidants, as these can provide a natural energy boost. Others prefer to indulge in their favorite comfort foods before an interview, as this can help to calm their nerves.  There is no “right” answer; the only thing that matters is that you choose something that makes you feel comfortable and confident.

Listen To A Motivational Playlist

One tool that I find particularly useful is by finding a song or playlist that gets my blood pumping and fills me with energy and excitement. You could listen to a pump-up playlist, read inspiring quotes, or listen to a podcast from one of your idols.
