If you haven’t been hired through a staffing agency before, you may be unfamiliar with the term temp-to-perm. Temp-to-perm is a job that is temporary for a set period of time but will eventually lead to a permanent position. We only consider a position temp-to-perm if there is the intent to hire a person full-time at the end of their temporary period.
Temp-to-perm periods can last for around a six-month period or more. The company will mention the period to you once you are hired. Temporary positions aren’t too much different than temp-to-hire positions. The only real big difference is the outcome after each period.
Explore Opportunities: Gain insight into a company’s work culture and operations before committing to a full-time role.
Build Experience: Develop new skills and expand your professional network.
Prove Your Worth: Demonstrate your abilities, often leading to a quicker path to full-time employment.
Potential Pay Increase: Many temp-to-perm roles come with salary adjustments once the transition is complete.
Get Your Foot in the Door: Temp-to-perm positions can be a great way to get your foot in the door with companies that may not otherwise consider you for permanent positions.
Application and Selection: Job seekers apply for temp-to-perm positions through staffing agencies or directly with employers.
Temporary Assignment: Selected candidates work on a temporary basis, often for a set duration, such as 3-6 months.
Performance Evaluation: Employers assess the employee’s performance, skills, and compatibility with the team.
Permanent Offer: If both parties agree, the temporary worker transitions to a permanent role, often with a revised compensation package and benefit.
